Statutes

The statutes regulate the name, registered office, objectives, membership, governing bodies, finances and dissolution of the association.

Statutes of the association

Institute of Advanced Studies is a registered non-profit association under Slovak Act No. 83/1990 Coll. on the Association of Citizens, as amended.

Main provisions

Article 1 — Basic provisions

Article 2 — Objectives and activities

The association supports science, research, education and applied technology in cybersecurity, NDT, biotechnology and public health. See Mission and Goals for details.

Article 3 — Membership

A member may be a natural or legal person who agrees with the statutes and undertakes to contribute to the association’s goals. For application procedure see Member registration.

Article 4 — Rights and obligations of members

Rights and obligations, including membership benefits, are detailed in the full statutes and summarised on the Membership benefits page.

Article 5 — Governing bodies

General Assembly, Board, Audit Committee, Ethics Committee. See Governance for details.

Article 6 — Finances

The association manages its own funds from membership fees, donations, grants, project activities and other sources in accordance with applicable law.

Article 7 — Dissolution

The association may be dissolved by voluntary resolution, by merger with another association, or for other statutory reasons. Upon dissolution, assets are settled in accordance with the statutes and the law.
