Mission
The mission of the Institute of Advanced Studies is to develop advanced knowledge and applied research in fields that directly affect the resilience, security and quality of life of society.
We operate at the intersection of academia, technological practice and the public sector. We unite people who master their disciplines and want to project them into reality — not just into publications.
Strategic goals
1. Applied research
Conduct and support research projects with demonstrable applied value — particularly in cybersecurity, NDT, sensors, biotechnology and public health.
2. Knowledge transfer
Convert scientific results into usable tools, methodologies and recommendations for municipalities, businesses and government institutions.
3. Education and outreach
Make complex topics accessible to both expert and general audiences — through lectures, publications, workshops and public discussions.
4. Interdisciplinary platform
Be a place where experts from different disciplines meet and bring solutions that are not achievable within a single field.
5. Ethical and transparent standard
Maintain a high ethical and methodological standard of work — including openness, peer review and access to results.
What we actually do
- We carry out our own research and development projects (e.g. DFOS sensors, IOAS Security Cluster, mycelium-IoT)
- We collaborate with universities and technology partners at home and abroad
- We organize lectures and conferences for the expert public
- We publish both expert and popular-science texts (see news)
- We comment on public policies in fields where we have expertise
