For companies, municipalities and institutions

Cooperation and partnership

Six ways to work with the institute — from a non-binding first contact to a joint development programme with shared costs. Prices are stated so that you know what to expect before you get in touch.

Individual membership and organisational cooperation are two different things and there is no point in mixing them. This page is for organisations. Individuals are covered by membership.

What you get out of it

Confidentiality
  • Once an NDA is signed, no data travels anywhere. Your material stays with you, and where data is sensitive we can work directly on your infrastructure — no third-party cloud and nothing sent outside.
Savings
  • A proposal for a different solution that is cheaper or simpler than the one on your table.
  • A review of the offers you have — whether the price matches the scope, what is missing and what nobody thought to ask.
Partners
  • Connection to relevant partners — to those who actually do the work, not to those who merely sell it.
  • Participation in project consortia and in joint programmes with the institute's other partners.

1 – 3 · Corporate partnership

Partnership is prepaid access to the institute’s expert capacity. You are not buying a document, but the time of specialists, priority in the queue and information before it becomes public.

What the annual fee includes Basic Extended Strategic
Seats on open courses 2 6 15
Expert briefing (60 min) half-yearly quarterly monthly
Consulting hours beyond briefings 8 h / year 24 h / year
Response time to a technical question 5 working days 2 working days 1 working day
Review of a specification before procurement yes yes
Pilot verification (up to 5 days of work) yes, once a year
Closed seminar for your team yes, once a year yes, twice a year
Logo and profile in the partner list yes yes yes
Seat on the programme’s technical board yes

How it works. After signing you get one name and one e-mail address — a dedicated specialist who knows your context, so you never have to explain it from scratch. The first briefing takes place within 30 days of signing and its output is a short written set of recommendations, not a presentation.

When it makes no sense. If you need one specific problem solved once, partnership is more expensive than contract work. Partnership pays off when you need someone who accompanies you over time.

4 · Contract work

A specific task, a specific deadline, a specific deliverable. Most often:

A rate of €750 – 1,200 per person-day depending on difficulty and responsibility. Above 10 days we prepare a fixed price. The first hour, in which we clarify the task, is not charged.

5 · Joint development programme

The model used by applied-research institutions such as Fraunhofer and imec: three to six organisations co-fund a single development topic. The cost per participant is a fraction of doing the development alone, and every participant receives the result.

The rules that hold it together:

Topics we can open today: inference in edge computing and Hailo processors · automated non-destructive testing · waste-management analytics · distributed fibre-optic sensing · local language models for sensitive data.

A partner share of €8,000 – 25,000 per year depending on the size of the programme and the number of participants. Where a project is publicly co-funded, the share is reduced accordingly.

6 · Academic and institutional partnership

No fee, based on a memorandum. Mutual contribution instead of money: joint supervision of theses, access to laboratory and data, joint publications, joint participation in project consortia, guest lectures. Suitable for universities, research institutions, municipal organisations and the non-profit sector.

Intellectual property

So that it is clear from the outset what belongs to whom:

Model The result belongs to Publication
Contract work the client; the institute retains general know-how and methodology only with the client’s consent
Joint programme all partners, non-exclusively after the protection period, naming the partners
Academic partnership per the memorandum, usually jointly yes — that is the purpose of the cooperation
Corporate partnership briefings and recommendations are for the partner; no new asset arises

The client’s personal and operational data does not leave the agreed perimeter; where data is sensitive, we can run the entire chain on the client’s own infrastructure.

How to start

Write to us about what you are solving — one paragraph is enough. Within two working days we reply whether we can do it, which model fits, and what it would mean in time and money. If it is not for us, we say so immediately and, where possible, point you elsewhere.
